In general terms, WebYouthSoccer is a tool to help AYSO regions run efficiently, communicate better with parents, and ease the load on volunteers. WebYouthSoccer is a web-based application built on top of a relational database that distributes the work traditionally performed by a small group of people over a larger group of volunteers.
The WebYouthSoccer name is purposely chosen to be similar to the registration application, WinAYSO, distributed free by AYSO. WebYouthSoccer can be viewed as WinAYSO on steroids. But where WinAYSO is a single-user application that resides on a computer in a board member's home, WebYouthSoccer lives in webspace where all volunteers and parents can interact with it.
To keep the data secure all users are authenticated prior to access and each has a unique set of privileges. The regional commissioner has far more visibility in the system than a coach for instance. All accesses are logged to provide an audit trail.
